Forty-five years ago I started to model ships as a compensation for my job as plant manager.

The first years I built functional models such as motor yachts, Rhine ships, deep sea freighters and sailboats.

Driving in the water repeatedly caused damage to the boats. In addition, the remote controls have become more modern and had to be replaced almost every year with new ones.

Forty years ago, I started to manufacture ship’s stand models.

The first models were antique sailing ships. They were based on kits and introduced me to the maritime nature.

Then followed the period in which I constructed models according to construction plans, starting with antique sailing ships.

For many years I then produced paddle steamer Mississippi and later Swiss side wheel steamer. The latter then on a scale of 1: 100 with etched nickel silver sheet metal structures.
