Story:
The ship was launched on February 22, 1931.
With the exception of the Second World War, the Amerigo Vespucci was continuously in the training service.
From May 2002 to September 2003, a world tour took place.
The ship was completely overhauled in 1964, 1973 and 1997.
The hull with its three masts consists of steel ribs.
The hull is painted black with two surrounding white stripes.
These stripes indicate the two cannon decks of the ships that were the basis for the design.
The ship’s planks are made of teak wood, which is replaced every three years.
The front and the rear are decorated with elaborate decorations.
There is a life-sized figure head Vespuccis on the front.
The rear gallery is accessible only via the Captain’s Salon.
The ship is still in operation and at parades around the world always a welcome sailing ship.
